Trends In ISO 9001:2000 Certification
The world-wide trends for ISO9001:2000 Certification is slowing. The standard, which is required in many European countries, has not been widely accepted in the United States (just like the metric system). In addition, recent economic conditions may have limited growth due to reduced numbers of new companies. ISO certification still remains strong among companies in the safety and industrial markets.
Although number of new companies becoming certified is still growing, the rate is sharply reduced since the peak in 1994.
